Attention all foodies, kitchen witches and folks with special recipes your family has passed down for generations! The Historic Elk Rapids Township Hall Association (HERTHA) is preserving tradition and compiling recipes to create the 2024 ELK RAPIDS AREA COMMUNITY COOKBOOK.

Sold as a hardcover spiral-bound book or an ebook, the cookbook will highlight recipes and stories about creating dishes that bring families and friends together. Not only will the cookbook serve as a legacy piece but it will also help support the local food industry and HERTHA.

Folks can contribute their recipes as area residents or opt-in as a restaurant, farm, or business entity. It costs nothing to contribute recipes, with minimal ad space available to purchase.

To participate, follow these 3 easy steps:

1) gather the following information:

- recipe

- why the recipe is special or the story behind the recipe

- submitted by and where you live (ie - John Smith, Kewadin, MI)

-please include your phone number in case HERTHA has questions about your submission.

note your phone number will not be shared.

2) Send information to: herthahall@gmail.com

3) Please specify if you would like to be placed on the list to purchase a hard copy or ebook version, once the project is complete.

Torch Lake Township Segment Update

 

The recommended alignment was presented and approved by the Torch Lake Township Board on December 19, 2023. This marks the culmination of a comprehensive schematic design process that included significant public input, a detailed engineering evaluation, and the guidance of the Torch to Bay Trail Team, a group of resident trail champions.

  • Inner workings of a cooperative
  • The people behind the process
