Featured: Our Head Chef, Melvin, is pictured with the Grove School's new smoker bought with the Kitchen Equipment Grant that The Grove applied for last year. The grant is through the California Department of Education. We were awarded almost $100,000 in funding for various new pieces of kitchen equipment that support the breakfast & lunch program including items such as this smoker, the yellow meal cart, a brand new pizza oven, the green lunch carts and a custom pop-up kitchen trailer that is currently being built for us!

Volunteers Needed - Update Your Information to Help

In order to apply to be a volunteer you must:



  1. Complete the Volunteer Application
  2. Complete a Tuberculous (TB) risk assessment form or provide proof of a negative TB test that is less than 4 years old. The TB risk assessment certificate of completion can be signed by a family physician or the Grove School Nurse.
  3. LiveScan/Fingerprint Information - Department of Justice fingerprint clearance is required if you volunteer. Please have your fingerprints processed at a certified Live Scan facility https://oag.ca.gov/fingerprints/locations?county=San%20Bernardino Click here to access the Live Scan form needed to take to the Live Scan facility. LiveScan costs around $62 and Grove will reimburse for the cost.
  4. Complete the Mandated Reporter Training: Go to https://abuse-keenan.safeschools.com/register/151f397d and open a free account. Complete the Mandated Reporter (Social & Behavioural) training. "Please email a copy of the certificate (not the link, it won't open) to cbrown@thegroveschool.org. Screenshots are acceptable, as are pictures taken with a cellphone, as long as the image is legible.

CAWE/ Winterim Week


Winterims are designed for middle school students and consist of a week of student-driven curriculum, which may include nights away from home and travel. Winterims require weekly planning meetings, extensive fundraising, and oversight by staff.

CAWE is the High School equivalent of a Winterim. It includes: outside experts, academic, interdisciplinary objectives, staff and student accountability, travel outside the local area.

Ocean CAWE


Students learned about Ocean conservation by going to Cardiff State beach and conducting a clean-up.

The Film Studies students learned the art of film making by shooting and editing their own Ads and Short Films that they showed on Demo Day.

EF Tours


A group of students headed to Athens to Rome to experience the overwhelming history of the Country. They visited the Pompeii theater (pictured above) along with many other historical sites like Olympic Stadium.

Wild About It Animal Winterim


Students went to the Living Desert to learn all about animals.

The Theater took the Metro to Downtown LA to experience a tour of the Disney Concert Hall.

Paranormal CAWE


The Paranormal CAWE learned about the world of ghost hunting in Redlands.

For the Art Winterim students painted several of the picnic benches on the Farm, along with making chalk art around the Farm.

Get Outdoors CAWE


The Get Outdoors CAWE headed to Joshua Tree to spend the night camping.

Sports CAWE



The Sports CAWE experienced several different sports during their week, including Golf and Baseball.

Paranormal Winterim



The Paranormal Winterim explored the world of the paranormal by crafting their own Cryptids to show at Demo Day.

Give to the Key Experience Fund

The GPTG (Grove Parent Teacher Group) is excited to launch the new official Grove merch site at https://groveptg.org/. There is Grove School Merch available now. There is no minimum order and products will be shipped directly to you!


Groups can also sign up to work with a designer in order to post new designs as a fundraiser. Sign-ups are on the website.
