April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
Each year during the month of April, communities work together to advocate for child abuse awareness and teach adults how to recognize the signs.
Child abuse can range from sexual assault to child neglect, and verbal and physical abuse. Parents, guardians, caregivers, teachers, organizations, and communities, all need to play a part in keeping our children safe. This entails recognizing the signs of abuse such as mood swings, changes in daily behavior, withdrawal from friends, sleep problems, depression, or a sudden loss of self-confidence. This all can be a sign that a child is experiencing some sort of abuse.
Randi’s House of Angels promotes the well-being, health and personal safety of all children, which allows every child to grow up in a home where they feel loved and safe. Please take a few minutes to learn about the several prevention education activities and trainings throughout the month of April being offered in your community. It only takes small steps to make a difference in the lives of our children tomorrow.
