Y-Knot Tri
Lake City's silent sport spectacular returns on Saturday 12th, 2023!
This family oriented-triathlon features a 2.5-mile kayaking section on Lake Pepin, a 14-mile bike section, and closes with a 5K run on the river walk.
Online registration is available until Thursday August 10th at 4pm, with same day registration opening at 7am on 8/12.
You can compete as an individual, as a team of two, or in a 3-person relay team.
If competing is not your thing, be sure to stop down to the start and finish line in Ohuta park or at any point throughout the route to cheer on the participants. And, please, be extra aware when driving in Lake City on the morning of the 12th.

Float-a-Palooza
It's back, folks!
One of the biggest kid-friendly beach parties on the Mississippi River, Float-a-Palooza, shares the date with the Y-Knot-Tri again in 2023.
On August 12th from 11am-4pm bring your lilypad, floatie, beach towels, and coolers to Ohuta beach and cool off with friends and neighbors!
There will be live music with Ryan Sullivan playing from 11-1 and Victor Holland playing from 1-3 under the pavilion, Huettl's food truck, and Charlie's Lemonade Stand.
There will also be plenty of fun activities and prizes for the kids.

FLOTSAM River Circus!
FLOTSAM River Circus is a troupe of musicians, puppeteers, and circus performers who travel from town to town on a ramshackle circus raft giving performances for crowds gathered on the shore. Since 2019, FLOTSAM has performed for thousands of people on rivers (and the occasional lake) in Oregon, Washington, and California, and in summer 2023 they are so excited to be bringing their unique brand of merriment and entertainment to the Mississippi River Valley!
FLOTSAM will be stopping in Lake City and performing at Ohuta Beach Park on Wednesday, August 9th at 6pm.
The show is free and all ages are encouraged to attend. Let's help make Lake City a memorable stop on their epic adventure!

Lake City Area Arts Bringing Mixed Participation's Pickup Truck Opera to Patton Park | |
For Mixed Precipitation's 15th year of summer, outdoor theater adventure, they will be performing one of the most beloved and famous tragedies in the theatre tradition, Romeo and Juliet, adapted from Vincenzo Bellini's 1830 opera, I Capuleti e i Montecchi (The Capulets and the Montagues). This adaptation of the beloved tragedy promises laughter, gorgeous bel canto melodies, and calamitous romance. Continuing Mixed Preciptiationās tradition of musical ingenuity, this production also features the music of Fleetwood Mac, The Fugees, and thePixies - star-crossed bands whose passionate romance and feuds play out in their music.
See them in Lake City on August 20th at 2pm in Patton Park!
