THE WEEKEND REPORT

Tuesday August 6 ~ The Lesters would like to express our thanks to Kim Joos, Administrator of The Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka, IL, and their entire Staff, for hosting us last Tuesday evening for their “Concert Series.” I must admit…Ye of little faith, didn’t think we would get this “outdoor event” in with rain & possible thunderstorms in the area. But PRAISE THE LORD…He allowed the moisture to hold off until the end of the concert and everyone made it back into the facility. We got a little wet loading up…but GOD IS SO GOOD! This was our second year to be invited to participate, and we’re so appreciative for the outreach they have to the community of Eureka, IL.

Thursday August 8 ~ It was great being back at Bar None Cowboy Church in Newton, Iowa, with Pastor David Rex. This was either our fourth or fifth year to be with these folks, and we always have a great time. It’s amazing to see the many people that make the trip every Thursday night to attend services at Bar None Cowboy Church. Many of whom live quite a distance from Newton; but they love not only the atmosphere…but the Spirit of The Lord that can be felt. We really appreciate Pastor Rex and the outreach they have that ministers to people from all walks of life. We’re already scheduled back in August of 2025.

Friday August 9 ~ The next night was in Council Bluffs, IA, with our good friends & promoters, Deb & Rick Boehm. Unfortunately Rick wasn’t able to be there again this year as he’s facing several physical issues, but Deb continues to do an outstanding job keeping the “Concert Series” alive & well. We really appreciate her efforts to share The Gospel! The concert was held at Calvary Country Church, a beautiful facility, and how wonderful it was to see a good crowd attending the concert. We look forward to being back next year.

Saturday August 10 ~ Okay…when “Smilin” Norman Forman is in the house…you just can’t help but have a good day; 😂! That’s what happened Saturday at the Heart Of Missouri Gospel Sing that was held @ Ebenezer Baptist Church in Fulton, MO. I pick on “Ole Norman” quite a bit…but he’s so pickable. In all seriousness, he and his wife Marty, The Formans, have a wonderful ministry together and we loved being with them; as well as the other groups on the program. It was a full day of gospel music with continuous singing from 12:00 noon through 6:00pm. Special Thanks to the great crowd of folks that attended & supported this great event.

Sunday Morning August 11 ~ The Lesters had the privilege to lay over and lead in the worship service Sunday morning @ Ebenezer Baptist Church. They are currently in a pastoral search so we pray for them during this time. SIDE NOTE…We would like to recognize Brother Mike Hibbard, former pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church, for he and his wife Brenda’s assistance scheduling us for the Sunday morning service. Also, we want to thank Mike & Brenda for inviting us to lunch following the service; we had a great time of fellowship.
