Coffee Connections -

Meet the Authors Highlights

Last week, the WAWM RCS Recreational Adult Day Program (RAD) held an extra special Coffee Connections event. They recently wrote a book and debuted their brand new, beautifully illustrated book, "What Makes Us RAD", at the event. Those in attendance were able to meet the authors, have their copies of the book signed, and learn about the authors' experiences making the book. It was an exciting day for all!

Would you like to purchase your own copy of "What Makes Us RAD"? Click the link below and enter the book's PIN: 8196798

Fairview Acres

RAD is busy thinking about spring!

Fairview Acres will be a garden space that will be cared for and maintained by our Recreational Adult Day Program (RAD) and the preschool programs throughout the year. As a result, this will provide unique opportunities for our participants to interact with each other, learn more about gardening and use items from our harvests in healthy meal preparation.

Help support RAD! Check out a list of needed supplies needed for starting Fairview Acres. These items are also on their RAD Amazon Wishlist. https://amzn.to/41qb6T3.

Drop off items at the Recreation Center located at 2450 S. 68th St.

If you have any questions, please email Beau Benner at bennerb@wawmsd.org

Raising Resilient Children Seminar

In partnership with Children’s Wisconsin, we are offering the Triple P - Positive Parenting Program. This is a highly effective program, backed up with more than 35 years of research, and provides parents with evidence-based, practical parenting strategies. These strategies help parents raise confident, happy children and develop strong relationships. Discussions are targeted towards certain challenging behaviors and parents leave the discussion groups with a parenting plan that they created during the sessions. Scholarships are available upon request. Please contact Shelly Strasser at stram@wawmsd.org or 414-604-4937.
