SEO London’s HerCapital Programme
 
In November 2017, SEO London launched an innovative leadership development programme for female students called HerCapital. It includes professional development workshops, on campus challenges to build confidence, a buddy system, health and fitness challenges, group fundraising assignment, technology training (coding), networking with industry professionals and internship opportunities.

This cycle we have worked with 57 HerCapital Associates across 21 different universities (80% are BAME and 56% are social mobility qualifying). All students were in their 1 st year of university.

SEO London will be seeking to work with a new cohort of female students in the 2018/19 cycle.

Candidate Profile
 
We are looking for a personable candidate who has an excellent work ethic and is willing to learn. The team requires someone who is keen to take initiative, enthusiastic and motivated. Candidates should have a strong commercial awareness in addition to a genuine passion for diversity and social mobility. This is a fantastic role which offers candidates responsibility and professional development. It would be an ideal role for someone that is interested in working within financial services and/or HR upon graduation as you will get exposure to SEO London’s training programmes and sponsor firms. SEO London is able to support the candidate in securing an internship within an investment bank or asset management for summer 2019. The industrial placement could end before the start of any summer internship to ensure you can maximise your opportunity of securing a full-time role upon graduation.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

The HerCapital Programme Co-ordinator works closely with the Programme Manager and the other Programme Co-ordinators for the Investment Banking and Asset Management Programmes. At times, the role will require support the recruitment of students for SEO sponsors part of the Investment Banking and Asset Management Programmes and therefore we require a degree of flexibility. The role includes the following duties and responsibilities:
 
  • Assisting with the day to day running of the HerCapital Programme (recruitment and programme execution)
  • Contribute ideas for marketing the programme and positioning with students
  •  Managing the HerCapital email inbox
  • Managing the HerCapital Applicant database
  • Organising the final networking event for HerCapital (at the Foreign Commonwealth Office)
  • Securing sponsorship for HerCapital related events
  • Managing and tracking candidate information including statistics
  • First point of contact for candidate queries and Building relationships with candidates
  • Arranging video interviews, administering SHL tests, assisting with screening and organising and attending assessment centres
  • Reviewing video interviews
  • Scheduling and participating in application reviews and mock interviews
  • Organising candidates for training and events
  • Attending campus events (may involve some evening activities)
  • Assisting with marketing activities
  • Providing administrative support for candidate recommendations
  • Organising mentor and buddy allocations for students doing Spring Weeks and Summer Internships
  • Other ad-hoc projects

Flexibility
 
In order to deliver SEO London’s HerCapital and Investment Banking and Asset Management Programme effectively, a degree of flexibility is needed and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above. Such duties will however, fall within the scope of the role. The job description will be subject to periodic review with the post holder to ensure it accurately reflects the duties of the role.

Investment Banking and Asset Management Programme:
 
SEO London Investment Banking and Asset Management Programmes seek to identify outstanding candidates from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) or social mobility qualifying backgrounds, for sponsor firms’ first year spring weeks and summer internship programmes. The team is currently headed by Tracey Abayeta who started her career within investment banking via the SEO London Programme at Citi. After spending 6 years at the firm, she joined SEO London to run the Investment Banking and Asset Management Programmes. Under her leadership, the team have originated a number of successful training interventions (including SEO Academy and HerCapital female leadership programme). The team are looking for people that can build upon this work that has been done and bring fresh insights to the programme.
