“Home Alone”

Children are sometimes home alone while parents are working or away for some other reason. It is generally believed, however, that children under the age of 12 should not be left home alone. Here are some tips to increase the safety of your older child and ease your mind while he or she is home alone: 

  • Be sure to have telephone numbers posted where you can be reached. Also, make sure you list numbers for the police, fire department, neighbors, and relatives.

  • Enroll your children in a course on safety procedures. Their safety is related to their knowledge of how to protect themselves. Check with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, your local hospital, or the YMCA for courses.

  • Remember, with the proper guidelines, being home for limited periods of time can increase independence, responsibility, and confidence in your children!

  • Summer Semester Enrollment closes on April 22nd at 4 p.m. Parents who have received an invitation for summer school via email should log into the invitation form and accept or deny the invitation before the deadline. If you need your IC username, password or assistance filling out the form, please call at 608-204-7940. We speak both Spanish and English.

Dear Sandburg Families, 

This has been a difficult year for all of us and we wanted to make sure you knew about an important benefit that all families are eligible to receive. Our school is a Community Eligibility Provision school meaning that all students are eligible to receive free meals because of the percentage of eligible students in our school.

For this reason, every family at our school is eligible to receive the
Pandemic-EBT benefit.  

How do you apply:
Families already receiving the Wisconsin FoodShare benefit will have the amount of money added to their existing EBT card.

Families that have not qualified for the Wisconsin FoodShare benefit can fill out the following application.

Your student’s information must match exactly what we have in our Infinite Campus system. Please reach out to your building administrative office staff to confirm.

I have been at Sandburg for roughly 12 Years.

What did you want to be when you were small?
I wanted to just live in the forest...didn’t really have a plan 😊

What’s your favorite thing about Sandburg?
My favorite thing about Sandburg is its strong sense of family and community.

What was your first job?
My first job was shearing Christmas trees when I was in middle school.

How do you spend days off?
Hanging outside with my daughters and wife.

What is your favorite family vacation?
My favorite vacation was going to Maui, Hawaii. I am still working on talking my family into living there.
