I recently discovered the Apple TV series Ted Lasso.
The show is about a European Football (aka soccer) team named AFC Richmond. In the first season, a character named Jamie Tartt is a star footballer but challenging to work with. He is arrogant and tends to humiliate other players. As a result, he is traded to another club, and his former Greyhound teammates start to perform better.
In the workplace, we often have a star performer, such as a salesperson who generates more sales than others, but they belittle others and make it a difficult work environment.
Much like the example, others can perform better once their obstacle, i.e., Jamie Tartt, is no longer preventing them from being successful.
