B.A.A. 5K
We're less than a month away from the 2022 B.A.A. 5K!

BIB NUMBER UPDATE:

B.A.A. 5K bib numbers are now in the mail for all U.S. athletes who have submitted proof of COVID-19 vaccination through CrowdPass. Bib numbers are anticipated to arrive by early April.

For all international entrants and any U.S. entrant who has not yet uploaded proof of vaccination, you may pick up your bib on race morning at Boston Common with a Photo ID and proof of vaccination.
Vaccine Verification Reminder from CrowdPass
All entrants of the B.A.A. 5K have received an email from CrowdPass (support@crowdpass.co) with the subject line 'Action Needed: Vaccine Verification for B.A.A. Events.' As a reminder, all participants must provide proof of vaccination by following the directions within this email. The CrowdPass email is sent on behalf of the B.A.A., and we ask that you complete the verification process as soon as possible. If you believe you did not receive this email, we ask that you please check your junk or spam folder.

Prior to traveling to Massachusetts, we encourage you to become familiarized with local, city, and state health guidelines pertaining to COVID-19.

Tips for a Successful Race Morning
  • Arrive early: the B.A.A. 5K begins at 8:00 a.m. at Boston Common. Give yourself plenty of time to arrive and stretch beforehand.
  • Do not transfer or alter your bib number. Participants who transfer or alter bib numbers will be subject to disqualification.
  • Poland Spring 100% Natural Spring Water will be available on course, and Gatorade will be at the finish. Portable toilets and medical personnel will also be along the course.
Special Olympics MA Spotlight
On April 16th, former Special Olympics MA athlete, Gregg Schwartz, will return to Boston to run the B.A.A. 5K to warm up for his third Boston Marathon. Learn how you can join the #XtraMile and run on an inclusive team for your next race.
Training Tip from B.A.A. Coach Mark Carroll
"In the final few weeks of 5K training it is good to include some faster intervals of 800m (1/2 mile) or 1K’s at your 5K target pace or a few seconds faster. Try 4-6 repetitions with 2-3 minutes recovery between each interval. Try to keep the pace of all intervals within 3-5 seconds of each other and it is always better to start steady and finish faster. This will get you ready for race day!" -- Mark Carroll, coach of the B.A.A. High Performance Team and two-time Olympian
