Happy 4th of July TAP Sippers
What does July 4th mean to me? Firstly, it marks my 16th year with an amazing nonprofit housing developer and service provider. This July 4th doesn’t look like any other I’ve ever known in my lifetime.
On July 5, 1852 Frederick Douglas delivered a scathing speech at an
event commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence
held at Corinthian Hall in Rochester, New York. He stated,
“Are the
great principles of political freedom and of natural justice, embodied
in that Declaration of Independence, extended to us?”
What is true independence? What is freedom? Some, of course,
experience independence and freedom without much effort. While
others must work their asses off for it; You know, paying that “black
tax”.
I personally, don’t have an issue with hard work. In fact, one of the
basic elements of my upbringing was, “You have to work harder than
others to get ahead”. Diligence, hard work, and focus resulted in the
development of my professional and personal acumen. Do what you
need to do so you can do what you want to do.
I encourage you all to search the annals of your spirit to TAP into your
passion and hone your skills. You just might come up with an idea or
concept that you can develop into your own business or service. This is
the independence and freedom WE can control. This is the time to put
legs on your vision and fulfill your purpose.
This is the time: RUN YOUR RACE!!
