Teacher Tips

Teacher Tip:

Discipline without relationship leads to bitterness, resentment and anger.

Focus attention on the behavior you want more of. Send an email to the student thanking them for what positive behavior you witnessed and cc parents & admin. This kind of interaction goes a LONG way!!

ESL Student Accommodation - FAQ

Question:

Do we allow an ESL student to use a translating machine for their foreign language during testing? If it is part of her 504 or IEP is it allowed?

Answer per DECA Inc:

We would allow a device that does translation only or a paper dictionary. We can also make extended time accommodations if needed. Our policy states that the students are not allowed to bring in phones, tablets, computers, etc. for the testing and role-play events.

Voting Delegates

Each chapter is allotted voting delegates that vote in the Area President and State President election.
