I would like to update everyone on the progress of the construction and refurbishing of the Dunellen Hotel. The reconstruction is taking place in the back of the building; the kitchen and in the basement below. We were fortunate enough that the Dunellen Police & Fire Department and surrounding towns responded immediately to keep the fire from spreading to the restaurant and Rathskeller.
Damage to the rest of the building was mostly smoke damage. We are almost done with remediation and are moving on to painting both floors of the building. I am anticipating opening in the beginning of April. I am grateful to the expedited response of Tunison Home Improvement, Driscoll Plumbing, Longo Architects and Associates, and Shallo Electric; as well as numerous others. As appreciated as it is, I look forward to the end of construction and to have our contractors enjoy food and drinks on the seated side of the bar . I am sure Kathy Tunison will appreciate it. Don't worry Kathy, I will get your husband back home soon (LOL).
