A draft of a transportation plan for northern Johnson County has now been completed, but the window for you and your employees to comment on the document is closing fast. Johnson County businesses and residents have only until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, to submit comments. Read more about the plan and how you can provide input.

Residential and business locations that do not have broadband internet service or are underserved (access to actual speeds less than 25Mbps download and 3Mbps upload) may get help from the State of Indiana.
Underserved locations can ask the state to consider funding the extension of broadband service to them through the new “Indiana Connectivity Program,” administered by the Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
Potential funding would underwrite the broadband provider’s infrastructure expansion. Applying does not guarantee extension of service to your location. However, Aspire encourages unserved and underserved locations to apply so that it helps Indiana identify areas in need.
Related, Aspire continues to encourage residents and businesses to also participate in the Indiana Speed Test, a crowd-sourced internet speed test to help the State identify communities with in adequate broadband service.
