Summer Activity Guide is here!

Progress at the Pier

The City's leadership team recently toured the Ventura Pier to see firsthand the progress since the winter storm damage. Public Works Deputy Director Mary Joyce Ivers also provided a video update about the ongoing $3.2 million restoration efforts.

Welcome Charlie!

We're excited to introduce our new Public Works Director, Charles "Charlie" Ebeling, who joined the City team this week. With over 15 years of experience as a public works director and nearly 27 years of engineering experience in both the private and public sectors, Charlie's leadership has been instrumental in delivering significant transportation projects in his previous roles at the City of Goleta and the City of Carpinteria.


"I am honored to join the City of Ventura as its new Public Works Director," said Charlie Ebeling. "I look forward to collaborating with the talented team here and working closely with the community to address our infrastructure needs and enhance the quality of life for residents."

General Plan survey: Land Use

Now is your chance to share your final comments on the Land Use Designation Map, which was endorsed by the City Council last fall.

Celebrate planet Earth

We're looking for volunteers to help celebrate our beautiful blue planet on Saturday, April 20, at Plaza Park. Jump into the action by helping with a 2-3 hour shift! Help is needed in the areas of event setup/breakdown, manning information booths, managing trash, and ensuring safety. Be sure to complete the liability form linked below before the event.


The free Earth Day Festival, hosted in partnership with the Merito Foundation, runs from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

VPD's Easter basket delivery

Ventura Police recently partnered with the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation to collect Easter basket donations for local children receiving cancer treatment.


Officers Aric Almaguer and Justin Gil made personal deliveries to over 30 families at Ventura County Medical Center. VPD extends its heartfelt appreciation for the generous community support in making this possible!

Staff Spotlight: Ventura Water Collections Team

Meet the dedicated Collections Crew, entrusted with maintaining over 300 miles of sewer pipelines throughout the City. They are also responsible for evaluating the condition of sewer lines and manholes and safeguarding the well-being of nearly 110,000 residents in Ventura.


In recognition of their outstanding efforts, the California Water Environment Association honored the City of Ventura as the runner-up for Collections System of the Year.
