SCV WATER SET TO RECEIVE $2 MILLION IN FEDERAL GRANT FUNDS FOR ITS
WATER EFFICIENCY WORKS – MULTI-FAMILY APARTMENT PROJECT
We are delighted to announce that SCV Water, has been selected to receive a significant federal grant of $2 million for its innovative water efficiency project focused on multi-family apartments. The grant is a part of the government's ongoing efforts to support sustainable water practices and promote conservation initiatives throughout the region.

Our "Water Efficiency Works – Multi-Family Apartment Project" aims to implement a comprehensive water-saving program in the multi-family housing sector, targeting water conservation, education, and infrastructure improvements. Through this project, SCV Water intends to work closely with property owners, tenants, and local stakeholders to encourage the adoption of water-efficient practices, reduce water consumption, and promote long-term sustainability.
SAVE WATER THIS MEMORIAL DAY:
TIPS FOR WATER CONSERVATION
As the unofficial start of summer approaches, many of us are eagerly preparing for Memorial Day celebrations. While you're enjoying the long weekend, keeping water conservation in mind is also important.

Here are some water-saving tips to keep in mind during Memorial Day weekend:

  • Efficiently water your plants: If you plan to beautify your outdoor space with plants and flowers, water them during the early morning or late evening. This will minimize evaporation and ensure that the plants' roots effectively absorb the water. Avoid watering during the hottest part of the day when the water evaporates quickly.
  • Use a broom, not a hose: Instead of using a hose to clean your outdoor areas like patios and driveways, opt for a broom. Sweeping is effective in removing debris and saves a significant amount of water that would otherwise be wasted by leaving the hose running.
  • Mindful lawn care: If you're planning a backyard BBQ or picnic, consider giving your lawn a break. Letting it go dormant or allowing it to grow a bit longer during the summer months can reduce the need for frequent watering.

Please note that our office will be closed on Monday, May 28, in observance of Memorial Day. We will resume normal business hours the following day. Enjoy your holiday, and stay safe!
