The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation is inviting Akron, Detroit, and South Florida’s arts practitioners to apply for up to $100,000 in funding for innovative new works that use technology to enhance the way art is created, experienced and shared. Knight New Work was created to further digital transformation in the arts, recognizing that technology spurs the development of new modes of expression through the creation of works that immerse and reach new audiences.

The call for project proposals is open to individual artists, collectives and art organizations. Applicants must be based in or have direct ties to Akron, Detroit, or South Florida and proposed works must premiere in the applicant’s community. All works must incorporate technology. Applications will be accepted from June 14 to July 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Many organizations take an ad hoc approach to talent management efforts. As a result, companies could face an array of questions as they seek to ensure they have the talent needed to move their businesses ahead. While every organization faces unique challenges, some common questions include:

  • How will we plan for and develop our next generation of leaders?
  • How can we identify associates with the potential to take on greater responsibility?
  • Is there a way to manage our organization’s talent more holistically, rather than through a series of disconnected efforts?

Markwood Partners understands these challenges and offers the experience and expertise needed to address them. They work with clients on an individual and personal consultative basis to define their specific needs and create practical solutions that help companies use their talent to create better business outcomes.
