'Means Girls,' both Feared and Loved
Results, published in the journal
Child Development
, identified three distinct groups of popular adolescents: prosocial popular, aggressive popular, and bistrategic popular or Machiavellian-like.
The bistrategic group, which had the highest level of popularity and are both feared and loved, were described as a group of teens who can be aggressive when needed, and quickly "make nice" to smooth out any issues.
