A new collaboration - It’s About Time (6.5%)! An India Pale Ale
collab with our good friends at Twin Elephant Brewing.
Why this name? For years, (seriously over four) we talked about getting a beer in the tank.
Formulated with Golden Promise and Malted Oats, then generously hopped with Citra and HBC 586, we got a silky-smooth lush, crushable beverage. Subtle hints of hay, guava, candied lychee and citrus.
| |
|
The Redcoats are coming! From our Flashback Series, this classic Ship Inn red ale is malty, a bit smoky, with a light hop finish. 5.6%
|
Flow Trails (6.8%),our newest New England-style IPA with notes of tropical fruits, grapefruit and sun ripened peaches. A whirlpool hop addition and dry hopped with 100% Citra. Our town is connected by a network of awesome hiking and biking trails. Shoutout the volunteers who maintain those paths. This beer’s for you.
|
A new beer - Dark Helmet (5.0%)! An ebony colored but easily drinkable lager beer, brewed in the style of German Schwarzbiers, with robust roasted malt character and subtle herbal/woody notes from the Tettnang hops. May the Schwarz be with you…
|
Oddsbodikins (5.2%)!
Our Amber Lager. An easy drinking, uncomplicated beer. Toasty malty goodness. Finishes dry and clean. Made with local hops from Farm 41, top quality German malts, and lagered for two months, it is a one of our favorites.
| |
|
A new beer - Hop Bomber (8.0%)!
This Hazy Double IPA is dangerously good, hurry in for a glass or a growler to go!
| |
|
A new beer - Gizmo (6.2%)!
We just tapped a small batch brew of our latest experimental beer called Gizmo. It’s an American pale ale filled with tropical fruit, citrus, orange marmalade and pineapple. We’re very excited about it and can’t wait for you to try it. This will make you wish for summer.

Draught Diversions: Hunterdon County Beer Trail
The Tap Takeover: A "Craft" Beer Blog
In the summer of 2020, Hunterdon County launched the "579 Trail," aligning agritourism highlights that are within shouting distance of one specific county route.
Nearby wineries and cideries were included on this list of attractions because they either include a farm market or grow their fruits on site.
But that left the county's breweries without their own, unifying promotional mechanism.

Drink here: Readington Brewery and Hop Farm
NJINDYby CONNOR REDDINGTON
Craft brewing in Hunterdon County has boomed in the last seven years. After area veterans Conclave and Lone Eagle launched in 2015 and ‘16, respectively, five more breweries have opened in just the last three years in the rural, western NJ county.
The most recent arrival is Readington Brewery and Hop Farm, which opened in late November ’21. We stopped by for a visit this week to sample the brews and learn more about the new operation.

Passport program, visitors' guide just the beginning for new Hunterdon Beer Trail
When Lone Eagle Brewing opened in Flemington in 2016, Hunterdon County was thirsty. Only two other breweries could be found throughout the county’s more than two dozen towns.
But in five years, the number of breweries in the county known for its rolling hills and quaint downtowns has more than doubled. Now, seven breweries are tapping kegs in Hunterdon County, which is rapidly becoming known for its farm-to-table and farm-to-glass scene.
In a public-private effort, those seven breweries have partnered with Hunterdon County Economic Development to make sure everyone knows about the beer scene.

Interesting Fact: Descendants features an extensive collection of over 200 whiskeys from Scotland, Ireland, and the US. They offer whiskey flights and host a whiskey club and tasting events.
Interesting Fact: The name Highrail is a combination of “High Bridge” (brewery location) and the railroads that once existed in the town. The Central Railroad High
Bridge Branch (now the Columbia Trail) intersected with the line currently used by NJ Transit’s Raritan Valley Line and a spur that once served the factories in town.

Interesting Fact: Historic Flemington was the site of the infamous 1935 Lindbergh trial. Charles Lindbergh, the first to fly solo, non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean, was known as the Lone Eagle, and hence the name Lone Eagle Brewing is a nod to local history.
Interesting Fact: Spent grain goes to the neighbors at the Gorgeous Goat Creamery and Haxton Homestead to feed the animals.
Interesting Fact: Readington Brewery & Hop Farm is the only farm in the Northeast growing Michigan Cooper™ a new varietal of hop developed by Great Lake Hops. The brewery produces exciting new brews that “embody the uniqueness of this hop and our terroir.
Interesting Fact: The name Sunken Silo is a homage to the farming village that used to exist on the site of the Round Valley reservoir. In the 1960s the state of NJ bought up properties to create reservoirs, and an underwater “ghost town” was created, the remains of which now sit 200 feet below the deepest reservoir in New Jersey.
