Mission Market: Combating College Food Insecurity

Mission College is addressing food insecurity through Mission Market at the Campus Center, a specialized food pantry aimed at fulfilling the nutritional needs of students. With easy access to fresh produce and essential dry goods, currently enrolled students can receive free groceries and kitchen staples from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, during the Winter term. Be sure to stop by when the market reopens on Tuesday, Jan. 9, for convenient and reliable support.

Financial Aid Workshops Set For This Month

Overcome financial barriers and pursue your academic goals by attending our Financial Aid Workshops. Discover a range of scholarships, grants, and loans customized to meet your specific needs. Take advantage of our Enrollment Free Grant, providing tuition-free education for all students in our district’s service area. Join us for in-person assistance on Thursday, January 11, from 1-3 p.m. and January 24 from 4-7 p.m. at the Welcome Center in the Student Engagement Center. Read more.

USC Transfer Day: Explore Opportunities Online

The University of Southern California hosts Transfer Day on Friday, Jan. 12, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This online Zoom meeting provides a chance for students to explore the campus, engage with the Office of Admission and the Office of Financial Aid, and gather essential information about various academic departments. Destination Registration Event Set For This Saturday

Mission College's Destination Registration event will be Saturday, Jan. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Engagement Center. Attendees will receive personalized assistance in advancing toward transfer or career goals. News To Know

Food Distribution Set For Parking Lot D Starting Jan. 16

Starting Tuesday, Jan. 16, the 2nd Harvest Food Bank Distribution will be in Mission College's Parking Lot D. The distribution will be every Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to noon. Open to Mission College students and community members in the Santa Clara Valley, the distribution operates on a first-come, first-served basis, offering drive-thru or walk-up stations. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bags, be mindful of wait times, and are limited to one member per household per day, with sign-in required, promoting equal access to food assistance. Also, the distribution has been cancelled for Tuesday, January 30.

KJ's CafΓ© Open For

This Winter Session

KJ's Cafe is ready to serve you during the Winter term at the Student Engagement Center (SEC) through January 25. The cafe will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, providing a cozy spot for you to relax and recharge. The cafe will be closed January 15.

Library Material Return: Updated Drop Locations

Make sure to return all borrowed library materials to the temporary Library space within the Business and Technology (BT) building during open hours. Alternatively, utilize the new 24/7 book drop next to the roundabout entrance. The Library building book drop is unavailable during the ongoing remodel.

49ers Looking For Mission Students For Intern Program

The San Francisco 49ers have launched their internship program for the 2024-25 season. Explore the positions at 49ers.com/Employment, with the application deadline set for Monday, January 8. Additionally, part-time opportunities with Stadium Event Services at Levi's Stadium and Inclusion and Culture Recruitment are also available with later deadlines. Read more.

AANAPISI Scholarships: Support For Students

The AANAPISI Scholarship Program, in partnership with AANAPISIs and their communities, aims to offer scholarships, enhance institutional capabilities, and mobilize local resources to support economic development. The online application is open through Tuesday, January 9. Scholarships are available from one-time $2,500 awards to multi-year $10,000 awards. For additional details, visit here.

Empowering Immigrant Students With Scholarship

The Accident Network Law Group's annual Scholarship Program is offering a $2,000 award to support first-generation immigrant students in the United States pursuing a law career. Applicants must submit an essay, academic transcripts, proof of enrollment, and a personal statement by the April 2024 deadline. A Registered Nurse and Mental Health Supervisor is available in the Health Center to provide immediate assistance for the physical and mental health needs of students.
