Pets To De-stress Mission College Students

Dogs and pets known for their stress-relieving qualities will visit Central Plaza on Tuesday, Nov. 28, from noon to 1 p.m. This Counseling event aims to help students de-stress for Finals Week by providing an opportunity to meet dogs and pets known for reducing stress, anxiety, and depression, easing loneliness, encouraging exercise, and improving overall health. Renowned filmmaker Byron Motley will present his latest cinematic masterpiece, "The League," exploring the rich history of an African-American baseball league. Hosted by Professor Donnelle McGee's "Introduction to Film" course, this exclusive screening will be Wednesday, Nov. 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in TAV, Room 130. 2024-25 FAFSA To Open By December 31

The Department of Education has announced that the revamped 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be available to students and families by December 31. The revamped FAFSA aims to simplify the process, enabling easier access to college financial aid and facilitating an increase in Pell Grant recipients by $610,000, ultimately extending the opportunity for the maximum Pell Grant award to 1.5 million additional students, totaling over 5.2 million eligible recipients. SME Scholarships: Diverse Paths, Inclusive Opportunities

SME Scholarships are available for several key audiences including graduating high school seniors with financial need, students interested in community colleges, and minority and female students promoting diversity and inclusivity in the fields of manufacturing and engineering. Eligibility criteria include maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, pursuing a degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field, and being a high school senior or current college student, whether part-time or full-time. On-Site RN & Mental

Health Support

A Registered Nurse and Mental Health Supervisor will be on-site Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Health Center to provide immediate assistance for the physical and mental health needs of students. The center offers a wide range of health services. Students seeking general mental health support can contact HealthServices@wvm.edu, and a staff member will respond promptly.

Laptop And Hotspot Support Available For Students

Essential Student Supplies Available On-Campus

The Duplicating Center in Gillmor Center (GC) will provide ongoing on-campus support for student book order pick-ups, returns, and select class supplies. Limited supplies of scantrons, blue books, and index cards will be made available for students at the Welcome Center in the Student Engagement Center (SEC) and the Info Desk in the Campus Center. Students may find other select supplies at the Duplicating Center.
