With today being Giving Tuesday, I wanted to touch on a couple of things to help you if you plan on partnering with a charity. You see, some companies just stroke a check to a group, while others really embrace the charity and get their employees involved.
Partnering with a charity does not only make you a good Corporate Citizen, but it also makes you feel good, as it should. As a business, you should also be leveraging these partnerships for business reasons. PR, employee morale, networking, advertising, and surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals.
What you should do:
- Select a charity which your company has a tie to or is passionate about helping
- Contact the charity and present them your plans and get their blessing
- Ask for permission to use their logo and name in ads or other media
- Ask the charity to get the word out to their media contacts, volunteers and donors about your event or campaign
Keep in mind, charities are not only in the business of helping, but they are pretty good at getting donations. Lean on them to help you with your campaign ideas.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
