A Word from our Director of Infinite Campus Support
Highlights from the CRDC 3-pt Training Series
"We assisted 27 different school districts spanning the entire state this Federal Reporting season. It was a great 3-part series where we laughed, learned, and dove deeper into our Infinite Campus sites appreciating the data held within. While we have until March 18th, 2024 to complete the 21-22 reporting process, the Office of Civil Rights will open the 23-24 CRDC reporting season in the Fall of 2024. Don't worry - we'll be here to help, laugh, and cry together."

MONTANA'S WHISKEY WOMEN: FEMALE BOOTLEGGERS DURING PROHIBITION
MONTANAWOMENSHISTORY.ORG
Although Montana women were pioneers in the Prohibition movement, enforcement of the law was difficult, leading to a thriving bootlegging economy in Montana. Because it could be done at home in the kitchen, manufacturing moonshine was an especially attractive industry for working-class women, and for widows who could not easily work outside the home. Notable figures include Nora Gallagher, Lavinia Gilman, Helen McGonagle Moriarity, Bertie (Birdie) Brown, and Josephine Doody, who's unmarked grave in Conrad, MT, was given a headstone by history buffs in 2009 that reads, "Josephine Doody, October 16, 1853, January 16, 1936. The Bootleg Lady of Glacier Park.”
Read the full article at montanawomenshistory.org, including a link to a special article about the women who played an instrumental role in the passage of Prohibition, "Cultivating Female Reform: The Montana Woman’s Christian Temperance Union."
