Thank you Kate!

We want to take a moment to thank Kate for her commitment to the kids in Hancock County for the past four years. Kate will be relocating to the Toledo area. She started with CMC as a social work intern from the University of Findlay the spring semester of 2019 and transitioned into her case manager role in May 2019. Kate has led our school-based programs at Glenwood, Donnell, Wilson Vance, Cory Rawson, and Bigelow Hill. Kate helped us to navigate and make adjustments in programming through COVID restrictions. She has supported mentors in our community program. She enjoys not only preparing for group activities but sitting down with the kids to see things from their perspective. We would like to wish Kate the best of luck. She will be greatly missed by everyone at CMC.

Join us at our next Mentor Meet N' Mingle

Mentor Meet N' Mingle

We invite our mentors to join us for our monthly Meet N' Mingle. Our Meet N' Mingle gathering allows mentors to connect and share ideas. In June, Michelle Rumschlag from the Hancock County Parks District will join us to share many opportunities to participate with your mentee. Talk with other mentors. Plan summer fun together. Bring someone you think would be a great mentor. Mentor Meet N' Mingle is open to all past and current mentors and anyone who wants to learn more about mentoring. We would love to catch up with any Big Brothers, Big Sisters, or Children's Mentoring Connection Alumni.

Date: Monday, June 12, 2023

Time: 5:30 - 7 pm

May Adventures for Mentees and Mentors

Open for all mentor and mentee matches

Our upcoming adventures are ones you want to take advantage of.

We start the month with Outdoor games at Miracle Park. The Blanchard Valley Health System Miracle Park of Findlay is part of Findlay's Flag City Sports Complex. The Miracle Park provides a safe and fun environment where those with special needs can play baseball in their own stadium. The park includes a Miracle Field and Miracle Playground. Miracle Playground is a playground for all ages and all abilities. The Miracle Park is home to the Miracle League of Findlay. We will start the night by talking with the mentees about the importance of this park for people in our community and then have fun playing various outdoor games.

Join us for dinner at our Chipotle Fundraiser on 5/13 from 4 - 8 pm. Check out our Facebook page for the flyer you must show when you arrive. Tell them you are supporting Children's Mentoring Connection. If ordering online, use code FB99RG8

We have been waiting to bring this adventure to you since April 2020. This event is made possible by the Marathon Classic grant. Imagination Station is coming to us to share a variety of STEM activities. This is great for kids of all ages, and adults will love it too.

Our summer adventures will be coming soon. One of the first things we will do is partner with XT Fitness, The City of Findlay Recreation Department, Heavenly Pizza, Iron Sharpens Iron, and Mad Hatter for the Family Fitness Fair. Join us for the afternoon of Family Fitness Fun at XT Fitness. Any proceeds raised a the event will benefit Children's Mentoring Connection.

Be sure to RSVP for our events, so we have plenty of supplies.
