ALA Girls Nation is this month!

In just 10 days, 100 high school seniors will arrive in Washington, D.C. to represent their state as a senator at ALA Girls Nation! During the week, the senators will learn how the federal government operates and take part in mock senate sessions. In addition to the on-campus work, they will explore our nation’s capital. Visits include Arlington National Cemetery, D.C. monuments, Twilight Tattoo at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, and Capitol Hill.

You can follow along on Facebook and Instagram @ALAGirlsNation. We’d love to hear from alumnae of all ages about your ALA Girls State/Nation experiences and how they helped shape your future. Email us!

Fundraising 4-1-1

The ALA-branded license plate is available to all Indiana residents this registration year, which began Jan. 1. Indiana residents can select the plate when they renew online or at their local BMV. The exciting update also included a motorcycle license plate. The license plate is $40 to purchase, and $25 of that will go back to the national American Legion Auxiliary to support the Auxiliary Emergency Fund. This opportunity is a wonderful way to give back to fellow ALA members facing financial hardship or crisis. Not an Indiana resident? Read our blog post to learn how to apply for a special recognition license plate in your state.

How to help get your Legion post home on the National Register of Historic Places
