State Representative Kristen Arrington Visits Kissimmee Gateway Airport

On May 23, Kissimmee Airport was privileged to host Florida State Representative Kristen Arrington, marking a special day in our calendar. The visit, characterized by enthusiasm and keen interest from Representative Arrington, included an exclusive tour of our aviation facilities. Our esteemed guest was taken around the expansive premises, giving her an in-depth look at the operations and our airport's pivotal role in regional connectivity and economy. A highlight of the visit was the stunning panoramic views offered by the Air Traffic Control Tower, a perspective that truly captures the bustling life of our airport. It was an honor to share these moments with Representative Arrington, showcasing Kissimmee Airport's commitment to excellence in aviation.

Kissimmee Gateway Airport Completes

2024 Statewide Airfield Marking Program

The Kissimmee Gateway Airport completed the 2024 Statewide Airfield Marking Program. Runway 15/33 was cleaned full length applying fresh paint and reflective beads to enhance visibility and increase safety. In addition, portions of Runway 6/24 were also repainted, enhancing the threshold and aiming points. The project’s duration was approximately three weeks due to weather, equipment, and product delivery challenges. The Airport Operations Team coordinated daily pavement closures with the Air Traffic Control Tower and FBOs to ensure safe and efficient operations continued, especially for our visitors with large aircraft requiring Runway 15/33. The project’s total cost was $202,580.72 and was funded by a Florida Department of Transportation Grant (80%) and the Kissimmee Gateway Airport (20%). The work was performed by a state contractor – Florida Airfield Maintenance, Joint Venture.
