Welcome to my “In Your Backyard” newsletter.

I am a landscape designer, garden author, horticulturist, radio host of syndicated “Better Lawns and Gardens”. I love gardening and I’m a sucker* for gardens, Everything about gardens. Their beauty, the colors, fragrances, diagnosing issues, designing gardens, and visiting gardens. 2024 is a turnstile year for me. Adding to my garden delights, as a benefit from my Garden Communicator International membership visiting botanical and private gardens for the last 15 years, I’ve added garden touring to my busy schedule. Click on Art in Bloom Garden Tours link below to find out more. I hope you decide to join me soon! Art in Bloom Garden Tours

Each month, “In Your Backyard”, you will find what to do in your landscape. No matter what Florida zone you are in, you can see what to plant, what to pull out, what to cut, and what to look for with your indoor and outside gardens. If you have a garden question or would like to tell me about your garden and what you like to plant, I would love to know. Contact Me at Sustainable Horticultural Environments.

How did we meet? Did you hear my syndicated gardening radio show “Better Lawns and Gardens” on Saturday mornings from 7am 9am? You can hear the show every week live or listen to Better Lawns and Gardens podcast on iHeart radio, Audioboom, Spotify, Apple, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Seriously, it’s everywhere. If your local radio station doesn’t have Better Lawns and Gardens, please ask for it! Better Lawns and Gardens

Did we meet at a garden club talk? Wonderful! Garden Clubs are a great way to learn about gardening. Today’s garden clubs are not your grandmother’s garden club. Now, garden club members care and learn about the environment, can become consultants, promote educational opportunities, actively help the world to be a better place, and learn floral design. Find a garden club near you. You will be welcomed with open arms, and the latest dirt on gardening.

Drop me a line and let me know what you like to plant and your garden passions. I would love to know. If you have a topic you would like to learn more about, let me know that as well. I’m looking forward to hearing from you, giving you seasonal information on what to do in your gardens, my landscape design tips, opportunities to travel with me to beautiful gardens in the United States and abroad, and geeking out about gardening.

ï»żThank you for inviting me into your backyard.

I am a Gardener
