Parks Master Plan Community Workshop on May 22


The City of Vista invites residents to attend the latest Parks Master Plan Workshops on Wednesday, May 22, at the United Methodist Church of Vista.


Workshop Details

Date: Wednesday, May 22, 2024

Location: United Methodist Church of Vista, 490 S. Melrose Drive

4 pm - 5 pm: Enjoy complimentary tacos for meeting participants

5 pm: Discussion on Breeze Hill Road/Courthouse Site Specific Plan

6 pm: Discussion on Matagual Site Specific Plan

Future Park Locations

Breeze Hill Road/Courthouse Site

2.97 acres located on the north side of Breeze Hill Rd. adjacent to the County Courthouse Complex.


Matagual Drive Site

2 acres located at the corner of Matagual Drive and Hacienda Drive.

Reminder: Registration Now Open for E-Bike Safety Training


Registration for the City's E-Bike Safety Training Program is now open. This free program promotes safe and sustainable transportation options for residents. With the increasing popularity of e-bikes, riders need the knowledge and skills to ride safely. The City's program combines educational training sessions with rebates to make e-bike ownership more accessible to everyone.

Shred, E-Waste, and Mulch Event on June 8


The City of Vista's Public Works Department and EDCO are sponsoring a free event on Saturday, June 8, from 9 am to noon at the Vista Civic Center lower parking lot, 200 Civic Center Drive.


Shredding 

Limit of 2 bankers' boxes (10” x 12” x 15”) per household.


E-Waste Collection

Acceptable items include computers, monitors, laptops, computer components, printers, scanners, fax machines, radios, and cell phones.


Free Mulch 

  • Available for Vista residents while supplies last!
  • Self-serve, self-loading, and self-haul service. 
  • Bring your own cans/bags, gloves, and shovel.
  • Limit of 3 cans/bags per vehicle.
  • If using an open truck or trailer, please bring a tarp to cover the material.


Goodwill Donations

Goodwill will be on-site to accept donated reusable items.

Join us on May 26 from 8 am to 6 pm in historic downtown Vista for the Vista Chamber of Commerce's Strawberry Festival. Enjoy delicious treats, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities. Be sure to visit the City of Vista's booth in front of the AVO Playhouse for a chance to spin our popular prize wheel and win exciting prizes. We can't wait to see you there!
