Fire Hazard Reduction Program (FHRP)

Despite heavy rainfall so far this year, our area remains dry due to long-term drought conditions. One of the best ways to protect against wildfire is to reduce vegetation density around your home. By creating a defensible space, firefighters are better able to protect your home in the event of a wildfire. Learn more at www.CityofVentura.ca.gov/FHRP

The Fire Department will inspect over 6,000 properties in vulnerable areas starting early June. If you receive a notice in the mail, please complete 100 feet of vegetation management from structures by June 1, 2023.
