September Cultural Arts eNews

Fall is here. The days are getting shorter and the weather will soon turn cooler. A new season, a new school year, new arts experiences and…a new Cultural Arts Manager. Meet Craddock Stropes (she/her), who is now applying her richly diverse background in professional arts administration toward leading the city’s Cultural Arts programs and services. She says, “The arts are an essential driver for communities to create opportunities for discovery, collaboration, discourse, economic prosperity, civic pride and an elevated quality of life for all.” Please say hello to Craddock when you see her at an arts event.

TGIF Concerts in the Parks

Bravo TGIF

It’s a wrap! TGIF Concerts in the Parks season 37 once again transformed our community parks into rocking concert venues where friends, families and neighbors enjoyed spectacular music and dancing as the summer sun set. Special thanks to our title sponsors, Carlsbad Charitable Foundation and Rincon Homes, and the continued support of the Carlsbad Friends of the Arts for their generous support. And thanks for complying with the new security measures, which are consistent with the latest best practices for large public events. From the concert crew to police and fire personnel, environmental sustainability, parks maintenance and transportation staff – everyone worked together to keep the small-town community vibes alive.

We’d love to hear what you thought of the season – drop us a line at arts@carlsbadca.gov
