Explore the Shared Regional Housing Services (SRHS) pilot program presented during the October 25, 2023, Board of Regional Commissioners' meeting. Funded through FY2025 with county ARPA funds, it gained approval for engaging with town administrations and community feedback. Ongoing consultation with the Barnstable County HOME Consortium Advisory Council, representing housing experts from each town, will shape the SRHS program's future.

Barnstable County’s Emergency Preparedness Director, Chip Reilly, recently conducted a 3-hour training session for members of the BOCH (Brewster, Orleans, Chatham, Harwich) and the newly formed Eastham Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT). Chip covered the ins and outs of regional shelters, volunteer agency support, and aiding vulnerable communities during large-scale events.

This past Veterans Day week, we proudly illuminated Barnstable County’s Superior Courthouse in a vibrant shade of green to honor and salute our veterans! It was all part of #OperationGreenLight, a nationwide initiative by NACo and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers.
