The City Council will hold its second regular meeting of the month on Tuesday, June 25, at 5:30 pm, in Council Chambers at the Vista Civic Center. The meeting is open to the public, and participation in person or virtually is welcome.

Vista Cool Zones Provide Relief From the Heat

As temperatures rise, staying cool is crucial for your health and comfort. The City of Vista has two designated Cool Zone locations where residents can escape the heat:

McClellan Senior Center

📍 Location: 1400 Vale Terrace Dr, Vista

⌚ Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 am- 3:30 pm

Vista Library

📍 Location: 700 Eucalyptus Ave, Vista

⌚ Hours: Mondays 10 am-5 pm; Tuesdays/Wednesdays 12 pm-7 pm; Thursdays 10 am-6 pm; Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays 10 am-5 pm

These Cool Zones provide a comfortable, air-conditioned environment for all residents. Remember to stay hydrated, check on neighbors, and take advantage of these resources to beat the summer heat.

Reminder: Parks & Recreation Commission to Review Pickleball Court Options, June 24

The community is invited to attend the June 24 Parks & Recreation Commission meeting at 6 pm in Council Chambers at the Vista Civic Center. The Commission will discuss potential locations for new pickleball courts at Brengle Terrace Park. Part of the discussion includes exploring options to convert existing tennis courts into pickleball courts.

Reminder: Public Safety Town Hall, June 27

The Vista Sheriff's Office will present a Public Safety Town Hall to offer updates on the following:

• Recent public safety incidents
• How parents can recognize signs of gang participation
• Relocation of the Townsite Sub-Station

The public is invited to attend this important presentation and to ask questions of representatives of the Sheriff's Office and the City of Vista.

Independence Day Celebration with Fireworks on July 4

The City of Vista's 56th Annual Independence Day Celebration is scheduled for Thursday, July 4, at Brengle Terrace Park and the Moonlight Amphitheatre. The park opens at 7 am, the Amphitheatre opens at 5 pm, and fireworks are at 9 pm. Musical entertainment from Cassie B begins at 7:35 pm at The Moonlight. Amphitheatre admission is $5 per person. There is no fee to park in the park or at The Moonlight.

Fireworks Safety

Please be advised that fireworks are illegal throughout San Diego County. For a safe and enjoyable Independence Day, we urge you to leave fireworks to the professionals. Join us in celebrating July 4th responsibly and attend the celebration at Brengle Terrace Park with professionally organized fireworks displays. Let's make this holiday memorable for all the right reasons!

Keeping Our Pets Safe on the Fourth

Remember to keep your furry friends safe and secure at home as we gear up for Independence Day. Loud fireworks can be frightening for pets, so it's best to keep them indoors in a quiet, comfortable area.

Public Safety and Military Appreciation Day at The Wave on July 4

Calling all heroes! The Wave Waterpark is thrilled to invite all active or retired Military, Firefighters, and Law Enforcement personnel to receive free admission on July 4. Show your valid ID at the gate. Plus, bring along up to 6 of your dependents who can purchase tickets for just $10 each. The Wave will be open on July 4 from 10 am until 4 pm.

Moonlight Concert Series Resumes June 27

The Moonlight Concert Series is back with the best of ABBA, "Chicago Nights" starring Jason Scheff (lead vocalist with Chicago), and the Midtown Men, stars from the original cast of Broadway's "Jersey Boys."
