Continue Your College Journey at Texas State University with Bats to Cats!

Bats to Cats helps Riverbats seamlessly transfer and complete their bachelor’s degree as a Texas State Bobcat.

  • Seamless Transfer & Custom Pathways: No more worries about credits not transferring or retaking classes. Follow our pathways to make sure every ACC class counts toward your bachelor’s degree.
  • Flexible & Cost-Efficient: Stay at ACC for an associate degree or transfer earlier—whatever fits your goals. You can potentially save up to $19,000 in tuition and fees!
  • Community & Guidance: Start building your Texas State community while still at ACC. Get personalized transfer and academic advising from both ACC and Texas State, helping you avoid wasting time and money on classes that won’t count toward your bachelor’s degree.
  • Exclusive Perks: ACC handles the paperwork, plus you get scholarship opportunities ($1,000 for San Marcos, $2,000 for Round Rock), eligibility for Texas State transfer merit awards based on your GPA, and free tickets to select Texas State athletic events.

How It Works for Students:

  • Declare: Complete your declaration form at least one full semester and up to three years before your planned transfer.
  • Participate: Follow your program pathway, maintain GPA requirements, engage with ACC and TXST support, and attend program activities.
  • Transfer: When ready to transition to Texas State, you’re already in their system as a student! Meet with a TXST advisor and register for classes.

Former ACC student Jin Xuen transitioned to UT Austin this fall, and is majoring in Biochemistry.

Her advice to students aspiring to transfer: “I recommend meeting with a faculty mentor in your field of study. My mentor, Dr. Samantha Soebbing has been one of my biggest cheerleaders throughout my transfer process. Also, meet with Transfer Specialists to get their feedback on your application!”

Summer Events Held by Transfer Services

  • A Transfer Achievement Celebration was held to recognize ACC students who were recently accepted to a four-year institution. Family members and mentors of students were also invited to the event, making it a memorable occasion for those transferring.
