Coronavirus Prevention Awareness

If you think you have been exposed to the coronavirus (also known as COVID-19) and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your healthcare provider for medical advice. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) there are simple preventative measures you can take to help protect other people in your home or community.

  • Stay home except to get medical care.
  • Separate yourself from other people in your home, this is known as home isolation.
  • Call ahead before visiting your doctor.
  • Wear a facemask if you are sick.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes
  • Clean your hands often
  • Avoid sharing personal household items like dishes, drinking glasses, utensils, towels, bedding, etc.
  • Clean all “high-touch” surfaces in your isolation area every day (i.e. phones, remote controls, tabletops, door knobs, etc.)
  • Monitor your symptoms and follow care instructions from your healthcare provider. If you develop emergency warning signs (i.e. difficulty breathing, persistent pain/pressure in the chest, bluish lips, etc.), get medical attention immediately.
  • To learn more about risks and additional preventive steps, visit the CDC’s FAQ page on what to do if you are sick.

With these tips, we hope you and your family stay safe, healthy, and vigilant!
