Comedy at The Prep this Saturday

The Upper School Mothers' Auxiliary and Fathers' Council have teamed up for a Comedy Night in the all-new Paul Verni Fine Arts Center theater on Saturday, Jan. 27, featuring the writer and star of the one-woman theatrical comedy, "Italian Bred," Candice Guardino. Tickets will remain at $75 for the duration of the lead-up. Get yours today! Doors open at 7 p.m. to light fare, beer, wine and soda — with specialty cocktails available for purchase — and the headliner takes the stage starting at 8 p.m.

Showdown vs. Stepinac Set for Feb. 10 @ Iona University

Featuring contests and giveaways, prizes and prominence in the CHSAA standings, Iona Prep's annual Super Saturday Showdown is an event like no other. Held at the school's ancestral home of Iona University, the Showdown features all of the pomp and circumstance befitting one of the areas premier programs and academic institutions, with a halftime ceremony to the highlight above-average collegiate commitments and well-above average GPAs of Iona Prep's "scholar-athletes."

Tickets start at $10 for general admission, or $25 for the comfort upgrade of a limited supply of chair back seats. A reimagined pregame reception with food and a cash bar will be available in the glass-encased LaPenta School of Business atrium for an additional $25 from 5:30 p.m. until the 7 p.m tipoff.

Iona Prep Highlighted in Catholic Schools Week NY Post Special

Ahead of Catholic Schools Week (Jan. 28 - Feb. 3) New York Post reporter Perri Ormont Blumberg interviewed Upper School Principal Dr. Anthony Casella '97, P'36 and Chaplain the Rev. Justin Cinnante, O.Carm., about the evolution of Catholic education and the latest innovations at The Prep. Among the latter include a new Broadcast Journalism elective and Financial Literacy course held in the new Business Learning Center.

Wrestling Three-Peats as Westchester County Champions

The varsity wrestling team continued its county-wide dominance on Jan. 20 with it's third consecutive Westchester County Championship. The Gaels boasted a handful of individual titlists, two runners-up, a bronze-medalist and two fourth-place finishers. Overall, Iona Prep totaled 239 points — 120 more than the second-place team. One grappler in particular recorded his 100th win and second title.

The Christian Brothers want to hear from YOU in a new survey

Edmund Rice Christian Brothers North America is presently conducting a survey of every constituency within its network — Christian Brother school alumni, faculty, parents, ACTION alumni, etc. — that explores how an Edmund Rice Christian Brother education impacts lives and choices today. Responses will be collated into a larger reflection on how the Spirit moves among us, perhaps suggest “Where to Edmund?”, and for those who provide contact info, an opportunity to link up with former companions.
