Announcements & News
Congrats to Alpha Sigma Chapter!
On Sunday, April 18 we welcomed our newest chapter at Old Dominion University.

National leaders and members across the country welcomed our 18 founding members to the hive with a virtual ceremony and celebration of everything the chapter accomplished leading up to their induction.

Here’s to many years of friendship, leadership, and service.
Convention Legislation available for review
The legislative proposals voting delegates will be considering and voting upon at convention in July are now available for review. These proposals include revisions to Omega Phi Alpha’s national constitution and bylaws submitted by individual members, chapters, or committees. It is important that voting delegates discuss these amendments with fellow members because all ratified amendments to the national constitution and bylaws take effect upon the final adjournment of Convention. Download the legislation packets and learn more at the link below.

Interested in being elected to our Board of Directors?
The Nominations Committee is now seeking candidates interested in running for election to our Board of Directors. The application is open through May 20. The Nominations Committee will review all applications and a slate of nominees will be announced ahead of Convention 2021 this summer. On July 10, convention delegates will elect leaders to fill each of the five Board of Directors positions: President, Vice President of Communications, Vice President of Programs, Vice President of Lifetime Membership, and Vice President of Finance. Visit our national website (linked below) to review position descriptions for each of these roles.
District Summit service project update
At this year’s District Summits, we held a service project challenging chapters to to gather and donate food to a local food bank. 6 chapters submitted their food donation totals - Alpha Iota, Tau, Alpha Pi, Delta, Alpha Omicron, and Phi. Alpha Iota donated the most food, collecting 268 lbs, an average of 27 lbs per participating member. In total, 82 members collected 902 lbs of food, which is just over 10 lbs/ member! Congratulations to all participants.

In Memoriam
Latoya Hoyle (1993-2021)
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of Mu alum, Latoya Hoyle. Latoya had been battling Lupus, and no matter how sick she got, she was a huge support to Mu Chapter. We encourage members to send their thoughts and sympathy to Mu Chapter and their alums.

“The battle is never over. You fought like a soldier and I’ll never forget that. Lupus is a cruel disease but it never defined who you were as a person. A heart as pure as gold and a smile that would like up the entire room. My sister you will never be forgotten. It is my duty to continue fighting for you, fighting for us. I love you Toya forever and always. 💜” - Chelsea Catlin (Mu)
