Ventura River Trail breaks ground!
Construction has begun on the Ventura River Trail Improvements Project! The project, funded by a nearly $5 million Clean CA grant, will revitalize 1.8 miles of this highly used corridor.
The City, joined by local elected officials, staff, and community groups, gathered on Thursday, May 2, 2024, for an official groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of this long-awaited project, set to be completed this fall.

Ventura’s latest safety update has arrived near Ventura Community Park, close to the Telephone Rd and Ramelli Ave intersection! 🚦 Designed for safety, this innovative traffic signal, known as a HAWK signal, helps pedestrians cross securely.

Santa Paula Branch Line Project
Our Santa Paula Branch Line, Rails with Trails Project, is transforming old railways into new trails, bringing communities together in Ventura. Join us for two workshops to shape this amazing project, including a virtual session on Wednesday, May 15, from 5:30 p.m.–7 p.m., and an in-person workshop on Thursday, May 23, from 6 p.m.–8 p.m. at the Jose Flores Community Center, located at 11168 Violeta Street. Spanish interpretation provided.
This project will include bike repair stations, accessible trail ramps, info kiosks, shade trees, exercise spots, solar lights, and more.

Grant deadline extended
The deadline for the City's Special Event Granting Program, offering $10,000 to aid free and affordable Ventura events, has been extended to Wednesday, May 15 at 5 p.m.
Additionally, in alignment with the 2023-2024 City Council goals, an extra $150,000 in one-time funding has been allocated this year.
