ROOTED IN FAITH, TRADITION, AND ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
A LETTER FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear Borgia Family,

We had the chance to celebrate our patron saint, St. Francis Borgia (1510-1572), on his feast day, October 10. During our all-school Mass that day, campus Chaplain, Fr. Donald Morris, shared with us details about his upbringing and life. St. Francis Borgia came from a very noble family, was married, and had eight children. After his wife's death, St. Francis Borgia joined the Society of Jesus, or Jesuits, and eventually served as their third Superior General. St. Francis Borgia was integral in expanding missionaries in India and the Americas.

St. Francis Borgia is a great role model for humility. He gave up notoriety, money, and power to answer the call to serve the Lord. He sought to be an evangelist, working to move others' hearts to turn to Christ.

As alumni, it's important that we share with you where we're going and where we want to go, but it's just as important that we stop and think about our roots and rich history.

St. Francis Borgia, pray for us.

In the last edition of the alumni newsletter, we reported the incorrect graduating classes for two of our recently deceased alums. Jan (Maune) Voss is from the Class of 1966, not 1968, and Karen (Maune) Schwoeppe is from the Class of 1968, not 1977. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
