BIA Hawaii and C&C YouthBuild Hold PACT Recognition Ceremony
Beau Nobmann, HPM Building Supply and BIA Past President, congratulates PACT graduates.
On August 15, 2022, BIA in partnership with the City and County of Honolulu Department of Community Services Youthbuild program, recognized student accomplishments in the Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Training (PACT) Achievement Awards Ceremony held at BIA Hawaii in Waipahu.

The PACT Program was designed by the Construction Training Center of the Pacific (CTC), the Educational Workforce Development Arm of the Building Industry Association of Hawaii, to address the need for qualified workers in the construction industry. The target clientele is post-high school individuals who encounter challenges in the traditional educational system and individuals who are considering a career change.

The PACT program has a proven record of 90% student retention rate. The high retention is attributed to the design of the program – quality real-life subjects combined with a complete curriculum with clear objectives and goals, peer support and industry support of the program, and the staff commitment for students from the community and the industry.

BIA Hawaii would like to acknowledge and thank our industry instructors and members that provided mentorship and materials for the student projects: HPM Building Supply, D.R. Horton Hawaii, Montage-Decor, Simpson Strong-Tie, HI Employment, Universal Design and Construction, Graham Builders, and U.S. Small Business Administration Hawaii.
