AEMP Members –
I look forward to seeing you next week in Phoenix, AZ, at CONNECT 2024. This meeting will be special for me as my term as Chairman will come to an end with the passing of the gavel. I can’t help but think of the phrase ‘the days are long, but the years are short’ when thinking about the past year. It’s not always easy fitting in the AEMP work on top of the day job, but in the end it’s all worth it. I’ve created lifelong friendships with many of my colleagues on the Board and the experience has made me a better leader and contributor to my own company. Thank you for this opportunity!
In Phoenix, we’ll have 250+ participants and 24 educational sessions. The full program with speakers can be viewed on the website - https://aemp.org/page/CONNECTEducation. On the Schedule at a Glance, note the designations on each session (300, 200, 100) to align with our core content educational framework. The 100 level is for new members and first timers with some specialized content on how to leverage AEMP to become an emerging leader. A renewed emphasis on Leadership development and team building at the Board level, and with membership, has been one of the accomplishments I’m most proud of in the past year. In this vein, I can’t wait to see the AEMP in-house band, ‘Earth, Wrench & Fire’, at the Thursday night reception! I also want to thank Colonel Garth Massey from CommandReady who will serve as closing keynote and MC for most of the event.
Other recent wins:
- 61 new EMS registrations since January 1, 2024
- 32 enrolled for the IGNITE online learning lab
- 5 new Financial Learning Lab events in 2024 are open for registration
- New Strategic Alliance Partners: Herc, GearFlow
The AEMP Board of Directors and other key stakeholders will be hosting another strategic planning retreat this year to help set the goals for the next 3-5 years. I’m confident that we’ll stay aligned in terms of prioritizing education & certification, membership growth and standards and data, but I’m also excited to have these discussions given the growth over the past two years. Welcoming a new generation of leaders in an ever changing environment will present existing challenges and opportunities for AEMP to continue to impact the industry, and support the skills and expertise of Equipment Managers.
I look forward to sharing more updates in Phoenix - including the results of our Q1 Benchmarking Survey of Equipment Managers - and recognizing our outgoing and incoming officers that have also contributed greatly to our collective success.
Sincerely,
Adam Ralph, CEM
