PRESS RELEASE November 04, 2022
Davis Elementary Named A GaDOE Title I Distinguished School
The Georgia Department of Education has released the list of 2021-2022 Title I Distinguished Schools. The Title I Distinguished schools includes those that have the highest achievement rate based on combined ELA and Math scores on the annual Georgia Milestones End of Grade Assessments. A Title I Distinguished School is also among the top 5% of the Title I schools in the state of Georgia.

In Dade County, Davis Elementary School was among the few schools in Georgia to be recognized with this award.

This recognition is evidence of the hard work and dedication put forth by Davis Principal, Ms. Charity Barton, and the faculty & staff of Davis Elementary School. Such an accomplishment is a true testimony to the deliberate efforts being invested in our students on a daily basis so that instructional loss, from the pandemic, may be recovered. This recognition is also evidence of the wonderful support received by our local board of education, along with the parents and members of the Davis community. Davis Elementary School is truly bringing our mission to life with:

  • Dedicated teachers and staff
  • Community and parent commitment
  • Safe and orderly environments
  • Strong leadership committed to excellence

Once again, congratulations to Davis Elementary Principal, Ms. Charity Barton, the Davis faculty & staff, and our Davis Elementary students. You all continue to S.O.A.R. in many ways!
