Dear Erin,,

It's been an exhilarating six months on the campaign trail and the big day is almost here! As I reflect on the journey so far, I am filled with gratitude for all the amazing people I have met, friends I have connected with, and the incredible support I have received. From the thousands of doors we have knocked, the countless phone calls we have made, the great conversations I have had with so many of you, and the hundreds of community events we have attended, every moment has been an opportunity to connect with my community and hear their stories. And now, with just days left until the election, I am more determined than ever to bring about positive change for Suffolk County. So let's make every vote count, and together, we will achieve victory! I humbly ask for your vote for Clerk of the Supreme Judicial Court for Suffolk County on, or before, Tuesday, September 3rd!

Sincerely,

Early Voting begins Saturday, August 24th! Make sure you know all the places you can cast your vote before Election Day on Tuesday, September 3rd!

It was such an honor to invite Father Tom Conway to open our Council Meeting in prayer. Thank you Father Conway, and St. Anthony's Shrine, for your charitable work and community outreach efforts. You, and your hardworking team, are dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all who visit the shrine and you make a positive impact in the lives of so many in Boston.🙏

New sign on the door at Carney Hospital is a clear indicator that those with the power will not be making sure we save our hospital. I applaud the Governor for taking St. Elizabeth’s over by eminent domain so they can remain open, but I am disappointed that the Carney did not make the cut.

City Councillor-at-Large Erin Murphy called it "outrageous" that the Carney Hospital "is not getting the same attention other Steward hospitals across the state are receiving."

"The closure of the Carney will cause an unacceptable risk to the public health of residents in all neighborhoods of Boston," said Murphy. "The Carney has been providing essential healthcare to historically underserved populations for over 160 years and have been reducing health disparities for their patients. The closure of the hospital will negatively impact healthcare outcomes for the residents in and around the Dorchester community. The loss of jobs will have a profound economic impact to our community also."

Murphy added: "The state must reconsider and prioritize the Carney to ensure it stays open."

To be clear, my number one motivation is and will always be about the voters and ensuring that they know where and when to vote so their vote counts. My concern is simply about ensuring that every voter in our City has accurate information. Access to the democratic process is fundamental, and when a city wide mailer goes out and the dates and times for early voting are incorrect, it can unintentionally disenfranchise people and block voters from exercising their right to vote.

As you know, I battled efforts to compromise Bostonians' constitutional voting rights during Redistricting on the Council, and I continue to bring the same uncompromising stance to ensure equity under the law. The residents of Suffolk County deserve elected officials who are committed first to serving them, and advocating for their rights. This is about safeguarding our democracy and is absolutely not about assigning blame.

Read The Boston Globe Editorial Board’s write up about the tax bill that didn’t pass at the State House. I have been pressuring the administration for answers and to share with us what the Plan B is. Our residents, and business owners, deserve answers.

“At least one city councilor, Erin Murphy, has urged Wu to start working on a “Plan B,” assuming the tax shift proposal remains stalled.”
