Peter G, that one. Peter Guadagni (pronounced: gwa - daw - knee) serves as President, Board of Directors of U.S. Masters Swimming. Peter is intensely keen on creating an experience for us that is sure to bring out the good kind of hysterical creativity and laughter in the midst of SCY season. He wants to celebrate masters swimming with us and to live out special times in 2023.

The Ideal Event: a FUN, joyous relay meet 

Indoor Facility: for 200 - 250 participants, spectators, volunteers

Date Indoors: Feb. 11 or 12  (currently open on the meet calendar)

OR

Outdoor Facility:  for 200 - 250 participants, spectators, volunteers

Date Outdoors:  Feb. 22 or 23 - the weekend prior to SCY Nationals

   Round Table USMS – How to Get Through Burnout

Rowdy Gaines was the first speaker. He kept his commitment, even after Florida's Hurricane Ian (155 mph) missed his home but completely destroyed his parents nearby property. Rowdy struggled with keeping his commitment, but he attended. 

Every coach is a clear reflection of Rowdy Gaines, men and women with a willing and sacrificial commitment to US Masters Swimming throughout LMSCs in this country. As coaches, we can be proud to be a part of something huge and brilliant that touches so many lives in wonderful ways.

This is a first-ever event of its kind in our LMSC. Lots of excellent talks by well prepared speakers.

Finding our Why. We concluded the day with Dana Kirk's outstanding insights about how coaches touch lives, brighten their day through a word of encouragement, recognition or technique. Swimmers, in turn, take that positive stroke and touch others in their network so our coaching impacts more than the lives of swimmers in our pool. Incredible word. It was a moment that resonated with inspiration. Of course, each speaker had something truly special and enriching.

Level 2 & 3 USMS Coaches Certification

Clinic Course for Coaches

DEC. 3 & 4, 2022

These courses are a must in your Club's game plan towards excellence, and knowing the nuts and bolts in running a great program. 

The weekend of December 3-4, Bill Brenner will instruct coaches and all interested in USMS Level 2 & 3 certification. Unusually so, these two levels will be offered on the same day.  Pacific Masters will reimburse coaches 80% of the cost of tuition.

Pacific Masters will not reimburse the Clinic Course for Coaches as coaches will be able to immediately make good returns on their investment.

New Facilities without Masters Clubs

You are key to our 2023 Plan. You are the eyes of Pacific Masters Swimming. With you, we have 20/20 vision.

Take a moment to recall the thought, "wouldn't it be excellent to have U.S. Masters Swimming impact that facility or USAS club?"  You've noticed a certain nice pool with lap swimmers, void of an adult community getting their fit on with a Masters swim coach.  Share the name of the facility or club with us because we are building our list and checking it twice.  Your vision is central to seeing the whole picture.

2023 is your year to help make The Plan happen. We have a plan to go out and offer lap swimmers a special clinic, an introduction to U.S. Masters Swimming, at new facilities without masters swim programs.
