Cary Holladay, 2024 Coker Visiting Writer

Join the BFA Creative and Professional Writing program for a reading with award-winning author Cary Holladay on October 25, at 8:00 p.m. in Zimmerli Common Room, Howard Hall. Cary Holladay has published eight volumes of fiction as well as a pictorial history of Glen Allen, Va. Over 100 of her stories and essays have appeared in journals and anthologies.

Exhibition: 'Payne'-ful Business, Charleston's Journey to Truth

In ‘Payne-ful’ Business, Charleston’s Journey to Truth in the Milliken Art Gallery, John W. Jones, legacy preservationist and acclaimed artist, presents a powerful series of more than 30 paintings of the enslaved in the antebellum period.


Jones and Seidler will present a Gallery Talk on October 3, 2024, at 6:00 pm in the gallery followed by a reception from 6:30-8:00 pm.

The exhibition is located in the Milliken Art Gallery and is free of charge. Gallery hours are Sunday 2:00-5:00 pm, Monday – Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm. The Gallery is closed during school holidays.

Carlos Moseley Series

Join us for the 43rd season of the Carlos Moseley Chamber Music Series featuring world-renowned musicians in the intimate venue of Daniel Recital Hall at Converse University. These Monday evening concerts begin at 7:30pm and are followed by our prestigious post-concert champagne and hors d’oeuvres reception where you can meet and talk with the performers. The Friday evening concerts begin at 6:30pm and are preceded by a happy hour reception.
