From the Board

We are pleased to welcome our officers to the PD Active Board: Todd Morrish as president and Monique Buffler as secretary. Norm Frankel will continue as treasurer.

We are grateful to Judi Ettlinger, past president and Suzanne Calpestri, who served as secretary, as well as the other board members and staff who have helped PD Active emerge from the pandemic stronger than ever.

PD Active is bolstered by volunteers. Come see us on May 11th at the Info Fair and get to know more of the wonderful people who make PD Active happen.

PD Active Annual Info-Fair in the Park — Don’t Miss It!

Learn about classes, activities & resources in the community, Meet class instructors and Support Group coordinators, see old friends and meet new ones.

Brain Fit Cardio with Petra Fibrichova — In Person

BrainFit Cardio is a dynamic class of exercises to strengthen and stretch both mind and body. Push against your PD symptoms and have fun with great music and group energy.

When: Fridays, 9:30am – 10:30am

Friday’s brain fit cardio class is fun with innovative exercises that strengthen and stretch the body. By adding brain exercises for memory with the body exercises, it creates a unique challenge for all to enjoy.

Special Yoga Series: Living Well With Parkinson’s — Posture & Nervous System Reset

with Vickie Russell Bell

Dates: Mondays, June 3, 10, 17 & 24

Time: 4:00-5:15 pm

Postural habits — such as slouching or rounding over computers, steering wheels, and cell

phones — gradually weaken the muscles of the upper back, causing compression in the front of the chest. This yoga series, will offer some simple practices to help to counter our patterns of rounding forward. Dynamic strengthening practices will be paired with gentle stretching to move toward a postural reset. Yoga newcomers and yoga practitioners of all levels are welcome.

PD Active is looking for a volunteer who can help with google ads and search optimization. As a non-profit, PD Active has access to free google search advertising, and we need help to make use of this resource. If you have any experience with Google Ads, search optimization, keyword search or the Google Universal Analytics System and could help, please contact Cathy Ball at programdirector@pdactive.org.
