Newcastle Chamber Update April 25 2024
Networking Lunch
We had our first networking lunch for 2024 on April 17th at The New Massey House Restaurant. We had 13 committed with 9 in attendance.
Look for a Survey Monkey coming out soon for a May networking lunch. Please try to join fellow members and learn about their businesses.
Tuesday Night Concerts 2024
Newcastle Village Concerts have been entertaining our community since 2003 in the Newcastle Parkette with its Tuesday night free concert series. For the 2024 season, we are celebrating 21 years of bringing our community together through the gift of music. As you know, the success of the concerts has been overwhelming with large crowds attending each week. This is now a much-anticipated annual series, running every Tuesday evening from Tuesday, June 25th to Tuesday, August 27th from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
Your organizing Committee is hard at work securing live music with anticipation of another successful summer season ahead.
Here is where we need your help:
Without the generous sponsorship of our local businesses and individuals, we would not be able to continue the concert series. We are humbly requesting sponsorship of $250.00 or greater if budgeting permits, to assist with covering the costs associated with the concerts. We will be producing posters and flyers promoting the upcoming concerts, and as always, sponsors will be graciously acknowledged for their generous support. The Chamber has sponsored this great event and encourage you give what you can to assist.

If you are able to sponsor, we would kindly ask that you contact us by e-mail to confirm at: communityhallnewcastle@gmail.com
Please include your official logo, so that we can add this to our banner shown at concerts each week. For payment ease, please feel free to e-transfer sponsorships and donations to the same e-mail above.
NDCC and Durham College Marketing Students
We have scheduled a Mix and Mingle networking event on June 4th at 6:00 PM on the patio at Boston Pizza Bowmanville. I have had a discussion with the college about having some of their students attend. The businesses that participated in the marketing contest we sponsored found it a positive experience interacting with the students. This is a no cost event. There will be food and soft drinks. This is an opportunity to hand out business cards and make connections with fellow Chamber members. Watch for a Survey Monkey!!
Shop Local
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, there are lots of great choices right in the community. Please support local, small businesses.

Did You Know?
One of the interesting conversations at the networking lunch was with our member business, The Cleaning Ladies.
The Cleaning Ladies are partnered with Cleaning for a Reason, a nonprofit organization helping patients and their families across Canada. Through our partnership, The Cleaning Ladies provide free house cleaning services to individuals in Durham and Newcastle who are battling cancer.
Cleaning for a Reason was founded on the belief that a clean home can positively impact the health and wellbeing of those facing cancer. CFAR is partnered with professional cleaning companies like ours across the United States and Canada to offer this invaluable support. Since its establishment in 2006 CFAR has facilitated over 40,000 cleanings enabling patients to focus on their health and recovery while alleviating the burden of household chores.
