What a great day they put together for the community to celebrate their grand opening on Sunday June the 2nd. A massive congratulations to Sherry-Lee and Geoff for a spectacular event. There were activities for the kids and a very busy BBQ that asked only for donations to Marigold Hospice. Thanks to their efforts and the community’s generosity Marigold is $2,000 closer to the funds needed.

The Chamber hosted a networking evening at the Boston Pizza Patio in Bowmanville. Boston Pizza is a long-time chamber member and put on a great night with a terrific spread of food. We invited students from the Durham College marketing course to have an opportunity to meet and chat with business members. This was a great success and so far two businesses are looking at using the services of these students.

The Chamber is very tied in with Durham College and has sponsored marketing competitions over the past two years and will continue to do so moving forward. There are co-op and mentor opportunities available to members. A big thank you to the businesses that came out and supported the Chamber and to those that missed out, there will be other opportunities coming up.
