April 4 (UPI) -- Hotel quality no longer means having the best restaurants, views and destinations, although they certainly do help. A rising trend in the travel industry involves one of the most basic but essential things do every day -- sleep. The greater the ability to sleep, the more people enjoy their stay, which is giving rise to sleep tourism.
Many people find it exhausting to travel, especially when flying across several time zones to arrive at a travel destination. A combination of travel exhaustion and jet lag greatly interferes with the ability to get a good night's sleep.

Bad news for the overpackers among us: It’s now even more expensive to check baggage on one of the most popular airlines in the US. Following a recent spate of US airlines raising their checked bag fees in early March, JetBlue is once again raising its prices for the service. Under the airline’s latest policy, JetBlue plans to charge as much as $50 for the first checked bag and as much as $70 for the second bag during “peak” travel periods, including the majority of this summer.

Despite the current downward blip in the U.S. electric vehicle market, airports, assisted by the federal government, are laying the groundwork to be able to accommodate large EV rental fleets. "We're not trying to predict when the EV transition will happen or what percentage of cars will be EVs by the end of the decade," said Dallas-Fort Worth Airport CEO Sean Donohue. "But even if the EV transition turns down, it's our view it is still going to happen, and now is the time for us to be prepared for it."

AI could not only reduce the number of jobs, but it has already begun to change the way existing jobs are done by handling tasks such as guest check-ins, customer inquiries and the like. For that reason, in the hospitality industry of the future, rather than people who interact with customers, the industry will need more data analysts, AI managers and people who can provide tech support. That’s because AI can perform routine and repetitive tasks, such as booking reservations and answering customer inquiries.

The Brentwood Arts Exchange Artisan Shop is thrilled to announce its latest exhibition, Petals in Their Present (2024), featuring textiles by Fatima Janneh. The unique works in the exhibit are 100% naturally died textiles made in celebration of Spring. Fatima Janneh is a Gambian American fiber and textiles artist. Based in DC, she works primarily with natural dye and is an avid knitter. She currently teaches dye workshops and sells at markets in the area as Fatima Knits.

Participants will work as a team to process and identify real artifacts excavated from our historic sites. Staff will teach you all you need to know; prior experience is not necessary. After playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers, Chef Tobias Dorzon went to culinary school and worked as a private chef.
He now owns Huncho House, a fusion restaurant in Hyattsville, Maryland.

For the first time since the pandemic, Circus Camp is returning in person to Greenbelt, and will be helmed by Greg May. The debut return of Circus Camp takes place over spring break this month, followed by two sessions during the summer. At press time a few spaces remained for the spring break and session three camps but are likely to fill up quickly.
“I’m very excited about coming back,” May said of returning to Greenbelt’s camp lineup.
